As a mathematician by first education, and by second programmer, I want to offer one simple, but effective in my opinion idea :)

Stars and cups leave as is.
But!

When selecting the opponent, instead of just cups use the formula:
stars^2+cups

That's all!

Quite a long time thinking about it
Some explanations...

At first the idea was stars*25+cups
But, in fact, stars assigned unevenly
Players 7-8-9-10 levels are almost identical in strength
But, for example a player level 23 is much more developed than 21, and can not compete with 25. So we use the square


At first, it will lead to some confusion, but quickly settled down.

For example...
A level 20 player (400+cups) will never be able to attack the player level 15 (225+cups), if lvl15 does not score a lot of cups.

A level 23 player (529+cups) will never be able to attack the player level 20 (400+cups), if lvl20 does not score a lot of cups.

I ask you to discuss it and give an answer.
It seems difficult to come up with something better :)

In this case, the players can not even understand how it happens.

Only see that even dropping to zero cups, they do not get weak opponents to rob!

I have absolutely no moral qualms when I go to zero cups , just to fill the achievements in the town hall , the number of wins , number of battered embassies.
And also, to make alliance +10% attack.

Just imagine the suffering these novice players ( and not quite beginners ) .
To achieve the 1500 town halls -> beaten hundreds of weak players .

Still wondering how many players stopped playing , because they are attacked by much stronger players once they accumulate a little money ...
Many roam up and down the cups and gather resources from all who pop out .

But in my opinion it should not be !

Throughout the game offensively.

Though the chain of errors stretches from single player missions!
When it was possible (by mistake for sure) to earn resources in single-player and so do all.
And no one came into his head to beat the weak.

And when it (error with regeneration resources in mines) was removed - it became apparent that the system of choice opponent completely ill-conceived.
When a player level 28 can go to zero and beat someone who just signed up!
And it is very easy for him to return the relics, smashing all in a row on his way. (+12+14+15+17+14 relics etc, doesn't matter the level of loser)

Do something. NOW!

It makes sense to use relics to determine who you should be up against. Because low leveled players who only fight low levels players might get to be ranked 1 by getting more than higher leveled players who are going to have tougher competition. Also the current experience is sort of out of whack and doing this would totally unbalance even more everything.

If a low level player will score many cups, he might be attacked by high level players.

I have more than a decade in the video games industry, this is the first time I see someone suggesting something as specific as this. Thanks for that.
Details on how code is done etc is normally kept behind closed doors, but I'm very sure input is welcome.

Game based on the figures should be supported by the right formula :)

You would think something will give players the knowledge of this formula.


At least now all generally transparent ... and stupid!
Do not want to be attacked by dozens of strong? Hide yourself at the bottom among the thousands of weak!
Do not want to attack the mighty? Surrender 10 times and attack weaker bases.
Want to finish 1500 town halls? Come down to zero relics and go! Beat minor :)
