90s Hugo-games have been witnessed in many languages, but not much in English. The only games whe're these classics were heard in english are Hugo's first PlayStation releases:

And as the evidence, i have the video in YouTube, where i have gathered few sample scenes of these two games:

Does anyone have any experience or witness of classic Hugo-games in English (in TV, Amiga, DOS or PC) or is anyone able to bring videos about them?

Also - has Hugo ever been witnessed in North America?

I don't think I have financial flexibility to buy them (or anything) from internet. I would be nice if they could be found as downloadable.

Is there any Hugo games in French??

English versions of Hugo Classic 1-4 can't be un-existent, considering that COOLPRO195 in YouTube found Hugo (Ice cave - Scuba - Lumberjack - Skateboard) game in English:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nor5bdAcxUU
Otherwise it would be unfair and partially [in case if this word isn't allowed here: six letters, begins with R and ends to T].

Well, I wouldn't be so sure if there are more Classic Hugo games. Hugo never had it's own TV Show in the UK, there has only been segments within bigger shows (much like Eleva2ren). And they only did that for a year or so. So in other words: Hugo was probably never a big thing in the UK, so it might be possible that they've never released any other game but the one shown. Just have a look around the web.. you find just a few websites that mention Hugo on UK television.

Are you on Facebook? The guys from ITE have their own group called ITE ApS and everybody can join. They might be able to tell you if the games have been released in the UK. They answered other questions, too.

And even if they can't help you. It's certainly worth checking the group out. Quite a few behind-the-scenes information.

OMG! Even though their company was closed! Cool! Except I don't have facebook and haven't considered of getting one. Anyway, do you have a link to ITE's facebook?

Maybe someone who does have FB could ask (and if there's any videos or images in there, s/he could bring them to this forum too).

I asked them about Hugo Classic 1-4. I'll post their reply here when I got one.

Not so sure about posting all their photos on this forums. The internet is about sharing informationen after all, but I don't know if the guys from ITE are happy with all their content being shared on here.

I would definitely recommend that you register on Facebook if you have any Hugo-related question. There was a guy who put lots of effort into rewriting and expanding the Wikipedia articles on Hugo. He got quite a lot information on that group.

And it's a bit offtopic, but you write on your website that it's unknown why the German version removed the Hugo voices from the games. The reason is: ever since they introduced the 3D Hugo he became an official co-host of the show. For some time he left the studio when a game started, but I think it was after the actor changed, he stayed in the studio and continued to host the show during the games as well, so it wasn't necessary to record new taunts. I guess it was just a creative decission. It gave them the chance to add some variety and not have the same few sentences every day. It really made sense for them. Besides that, that was the time, when they changed quite a few things about the show. The got rid of the rope endgame for example, but introduced double games where two people played at the same time (that's when Hugo helped one person and the human host helped another person). Later on Hugo was the only host of his show, when he was captured by Hexana/Scylla. She hardly talked to viewers, but they were a few instances when she had to.

Here are your answers from ITE. All of them worked for ITE. In fact, Ivan Solvason is actually the founder of ITE and created Hugo, together with Niels.

Hey guys,

somebody on the Hugo forums is looking for Hugo Classics in English, but can't find them. We're not so sure if the Classics (or the original PC games) were ever released in the UK, seeing that Hugo never had its on own show in the UK. We knw that one game was indeed released over there, the one featured in this YouTube video. But what about the other games? Does anybody remember anything about the classic games being released in the UK?

David Filskov I'm pretty sure he was never released in the UK. In the States, though. I think Hugo was called Tino over there.

Is that right, Ivan?

Niels Krogh Mortensen Yes, in the US Hugo was called Tino - and the show was only aired on hispanic TV. No english version to be found there...

Ivan Solvason Hugo was on TV on ITV every Saturday morning on the "whats up Doc?" A Warner show - beating BBC show for the first time ever. But ran only 14 weeks because of changing producer. Show was shortly after cancelled - loosing again to BBC. Regarding game - have no idea where to find it. Threw out my Stock last year

Ivan Solvason Hi all - Hugo was not called Hugo in the US (Telemundo Network) since a Hugo Award had the trademark registered there and the TV Network was afraid they might get into trouble. They had everything in Spanish only on 19 TV stations accross the USA, plus a system running their 50% ownership of a TV Station in Puerto Rico. 6 minutes shows daily for 2 years. But no distribution of Hugo games in the US were possible. Trust me I tried desperately for years to find a way. But without English language broadcasts the potential was very limited unfortunately. Were really close to make a deal with Fox Kids - but failed because of Haim Saban - CEO wanted to own everything, and I had to pay 50% of the TV Production, which was dangerous. But that was very close. Rest of US TV were not available since they are all mixed up in Animation companies (ABC = Disney) etc..others involved with Nickolodeon etc..

Only thing what this explains is why Hugo isn't released in US. It still didn't tell about Hugo Classic 1-4 being or not being released in UK. Many other Hugo games (even Hugo's first PS1 games and Hugo Jungle Island) had English versions, so I'm sure Hugo Classic 1-4 should have had too (especially 2000s editions of 'em).

Good luck, if you keep on looking for them.

Still no answers of English Hugo Classics. Sigh! Are they really so impossible to find or are people just too shy to tell if they have one?

Reason why I couldn't dub them myself is because if I do and if English Hugo Classics are found afterwards, I would feel stupid. Second reason is how they could have translated it. Translations of classic Hugo games weren't always very exact.

I once found user who said he has Hugo Classic 1-4 in English. He said he's gonna put them to Drop Box, but didn't respond after that. Now when trying to contact him by Google Hangouts, it doesn't send the comment (plus, the follow button on his Google+ says "Restricted" when I'm logged in). Could anyone who can, rush him, please?

Probably not since Hugo was popular at 90's not 2010's maybe in Second-hand stores might have some merchandices of Hugo, or maybe not, but I highly doubt there would be anything about Hugo, you might find the Agent Hugo games though. You should get to know people from those countries who knows Hugo and ask them?

It was confirmed that from Poland we go home through Denmark. I wonder if there's anything Hugo-related going on. Plus I remember someone saying that Hugo returned to...uh yes, that must've been Turkey. You see, I also thought that Hugo is still popular in Poland.

Hugo was broadcasted in more than 40 countries. But strangely, it had never been broadcasted in the USA. I wonder why.

Nice to hear people are active again. COOLPRO195 from YouTube had PC version of Ice Cave, Scuba, SKateboard and Lumberjack, with which he helped me to get Agent Hugo LA finished. It's only matter of time when he's gonna showcase it.
